Dragonwood is located in Parkman, Maine, a rural town in central Maine. We are approximately 75 minutes from Bangor (nearest airport) and about 3 hours from Portland.

Yes. All major providers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) have adequate coverage at Dragonwood. You should have no problem staying connected.

We have Starlink satellite internet. The WiFi works throughout the property, including in all buildings. Speeds vary depending on conditions but it handles streaming, video calls, and remote work.

Detailed driving directions are provided after booking. From Bangor, take I-95 north to exit 157, then follow Route 15 north to Parkman.

The land is reserved for your group during your stay. You may notice a small team (2-4 of us) tending the gardens or moving through the property during the day. From time to time, we host a farm-to-table dinner. If your stay overlaps, you are welcome to reserve a chair. If you reserve all three buildings, your group will be the only guests on the property.

Dragonwood runs on grid-tied solar with a backup generator. We have organic gardens and an orchard. Guests are asked to be mindful of electrical usage.

Yes, there is ample on-site parking for all guests.

The driveway is gravel. The Main House has a handicap-accessible bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Let Carrie know in advance and the team will coordinate arrival and setup around any mobility needs.

Dogs are welcome in the Main House, the Bunk House, and most of the property. They are not allowed in the Airstream or at Altar Rock. Requirements: dogs must be leashed if there's any possibility of running off, must be well-socialized, must have proof of rabies vaccination, and must be treated for fleas and ticks. Cleanup bags are provided at stations around the property. Failure to pick up after your pet will lead to additional cleaning fees.

The property is large with natural terrain, water access, and outdoor equipment. While families with children are welcome, we do not recommend Dragonwood for young children who require constant supervision due to safety concerns.

We provide bedding, towels, and toiletries (body wash, shampoo, conditioner, soap). The kitchens are fully equipped with cookware, dishes, and appliances.

Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available by request. Just ask Carrie.

No. There are no nearby restaurants. Parkman has one general store. We recommend planning ahead: meals can be catered through our licensed catering kitchen, Carrie offers free grocery pickup and delivery before you arrive, or you can self-cater using the full kitchens in the Main House and Bunk House.

Yes, with advance notice. Our catering team can accommodate most dietary needs including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergies. Please let us know when booking.

The Bunk House has a fully equipped kitchen on the first floor. The Main House also has a full kitchen. The Airstream has its own kitchen as well. The Main House and Bunk House include stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, cookware, dishes, and outdoor grills.

Thunder Hall (outdoor pavilion) is comfortable for 100 guests. The Haven (30' x 30' indoor hall) is comfortable for 75. For presentations and meetings, we can seat up to 75. Overnight lodging for 28-29 across all three buildings.

Yes. Weddings are one of our specialties. The property is reserved for your group. Lodging for 28-29 overnight guests across all three buildings, multiple ceremony locations (dock, walnut grove, Altar Rock), reception in Thunder Hall (100 guests) or The Haven (75 guests), a licensed catering kitchen, and personal concierge service from Carrie. Wedding season runs June through November.

We recommend booking direct for the best rates and personalized service. However, we're also listed on Airbnb, VRBO, and Booking.com if you prefer those platforms.

We accept all major credit cards, bank transfers, and checks. A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking, with the balance due 30 days before arrival.

Full refund for cancellations 30+ days before arrival. 50% refund for cancellations 14-30 days before. No refund for cancellations less than 14 days before arrival. We recommend travel insurance for peace of mind.
